ABOUT JUDGE MARION
I have lived in Amherst since 1999. My wife, Kelly, and I moved into our home six weeks before we got married. We have put down roots in the Town, and raised our children, Greg (22) and Abby (20) in that very same house. Also, shortly after I moved in, I joined the Amherst Democratic Committee. I have served as a Committee Member since then, including two stints as the Sergeant-at-Arms.
I have been practicing law since 1995. Since 2003, I have owned my own law office. Much my time has been focused on the representation of injured and disabled persons. Many of my clients are disabled veterans who have been left behind by a Byzantine system that encourages them to give up. I represented a number of veterans in a lawsuit against 3M, who sold the military combat earplugs that they knew were defective. These veterans were able to recover damages for their hearing loss because of these unsafe earplugs.
From 2016-2020, I served the Town of Amherst as a Town Prosecutor and as a Senior Deputy Town Attorney. I handled approximately 300 cases a week as a Prosecutor in what is one of, if not the, busiest Town Courts in New York State. During those four years, I learned a great deal about the way Amherst Town Court functions on a day-to-day basis.
